Richard is a seasoned innovator and entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in agricultural science, supply chains, and sustainable technology development. His extensive work across Asia and the Pacific has focused on advancing coconut processing systems, bringing innovative coconut-based products to market, and improving smallholder livelihoods through sustainable practices. A strong advocate for regenerative coconut agroforestry, Richard is dedicated to rebuilding productivity and resilience in coconut farming systems by integrating sustainable land management, carbon sequestration, and diversified cropping strategies.

As a key figure in Kokonut Pacific Ltd, the Coconut Knowledge Center, and RCA Carbon Ltd, Richard has played a pivotal role in transforming the coconut industry. He has led the integration of cutting-edge processing technologies, optimized supply chains, and scaled biochar and energy production from smallholder operations to industrial levels. His expertise spans from hands-on farm management to high-level strategic innovation, addressing both the sustainability and profitability of coconut and carbon-based industries.

Richard is currently responsible for global oversight of Kokonut Pacific as Managing Director and Niulife brand commercial operations, including Organic Certification with the National Association of Sustainable Agriculture Australia (NASAA) and the marketing of virgin coconut oil internationally.

Richard has led the expansion and diversification of the Kokonut Pacific business, building markets through international trade fairs and conferences in Europe, Asia, America and Australia while developing new coconut product suppliers from Philippines and Sri Lanka. Leading international customer negotiations, building distributor networks, researching, designing, packaging and launching of coconut products and is on the Board of Trustees guiding development of the Coconut Technical Centre, Solomon Islands.
